Acetone

Acetone is a clear liquid organic chemical used to produce a variety of intermediates and non-reactive solvents and used by the cellulose acetate fiber industry. This product is most commonly used as a chemical intermediate in the production of methacrylates, ketones, and bisphenol A, but it can also be used to produce vitamins, pharmaceuticals, photographic film, printing inks, paints, and varnishes.

Synonyms: 2-propanone or dimethyl ketone.
